FOSSGIS, Berlin-Commercial Open Source GIS

The german speaking Open Source GIS community meets from 13. to 15. March 2007 for the FOSSGIS 2007 conference at the Humboldt university in Berlin. The FOSSGIS 2007 is the largest German-speaking conference for free geo information systems. For the first time for three days the newest Open Source developments as well as well-known solutions within the range of geographical Informationssyteme are presented.

Gis applications are one of the most dynamic growth markets in the entire IT-market. The demand for geo information is not only represented through popular applications for masses such as Google map & Co., the market itself substantial increases. Also the fields of geo-marketing, business mapping, 3D-applications or mobile GI-systems experience a constant upward trend. For these and many further applications on the FOSSGIS 2007 professional, proven open SOURCE applications are presented.

Interested customers can infrom about the confercne and register themself on the web page of the FOSSGIS 2007 (http://www.fossgis.de/wiki/). The main conference entrance is free, a registration is however necessary for planning purposes. During the conference numerous workshops take place, e.g. to UMN Mapserver, Mapbender, PostGIS, Mapstorer and many further. The participation in workshops is liable to pay costs.
