On August 7, Brian Proffitt, former Managing Editor of Linux Today and the new LDN Community Manager, announced the beta release of the Linux Foundation's Linux Developer Network.
n an interview with Linux Pro Magazine, Proffitt said that the Linux Developer Network site is intended to be a central repository of knowledge and tools for developers. Currently, the focus is on application development, but the network should soon grow to include development in other areas, such as cloud, kernel, and embedded Linux systems. Proffitt says that the goal is for the site to become, "... a – if not the – place for Linux development."
